We are ready for the XMR algorithm fork

By

Monero (XMR) is preparing to change once more its PoW algorithm for mining, in an effort to deter FPGA/ASIC miners and attract regular miners. The new algorithm, RandomX uses random code execution and memory-hard techniques that will prevent specialised hardware from taking on the network.

RandomX is optimized mostly for CPUs, which is a great news for CPU miners, but could potentially cause problems for GPU miners. The fork is scheduled for block 1978433 which means, it will take place sometime around November 30th.

We have done all the necessary preparation and BetterHash is fully compliant with the upcoming XMR hardfork. The latest XMR miner has been added automatically to our users' computers to ensure continuous mining effortlessly.

In order to make sure you the latest miners, go to Settings / General and check if the version specifies "miners pack 3".
